Have RST Drivers but RST not installed

I have three RST drivers in the \Windows\system32\drivers folder on my 6-year old HP desktop but RST is not listed in the Programs and Features list of installed software. How can I find out what these belong to and whether they will give me a problem with Win10 v1903?

You don't say what motherboard you have but it most likely contains an Intel chip set and those are the appropriate storage drivers for Intel. The RST application that you have not installed, is not required for the system to function.

Is there a reason why you're installing it?

    1. My computer is a "HP 700-030qe" with a motherboard by HP (HP 2AFE).

    2. I was able to dig around a little and found that iaStorA.sys was installed with the "Intel 8 Series/C220 Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller" drivers. This was updated by the initial Win10 upgrade on the computer back in June 2016. It is running.
    3. I don't know what the other two are part of. They are fairly new however, but they are not running.

I don't want to install RST if I don't have to. I just don't want my system to get messed up if I have a bad driver on my system that could cause me problems.

    1. is the original as when you bought it. The version number/date is about right. On mine 12.8.0.1016

    2. and 3. I suspect may have been installed during a version update (1809), on mine they are the same version numbers as yours but dated March 2019 (obviously from 1903 update).

On mine the old Intel RST one from 2013 is listed in Programs/Apps and features and dated for the 1903 version update, 31 May 2019.

I would just leave them, no problem here, the 1903 update has been done. If it ain't broke don't try and fix it.

    OK, sounds good.

I suspect you are correct about the other two drivers being installed with v1809. I found the related .INF files for them and there are a bunch of other .INF files with the same date.

Yea don't bother with RST unless you know you need it.

You don't need the RST program but use the drivers which tend to be faster than the default MS drivers See Forum - Intel RST/RSTe Drivers (latest: v17.5.2.1024 WHQL/v6.1.2.1008 WHQL)
