    Monitoring tools for PCIe NVMe drives


    I recently got a new laptop with a PCIe NVMe SSD. I just noticed that Speccy reports "S.M.A.R.T not supported". I know little about disk drives and don't know anything about S.M.A.R.T., but I was surprised to see this. Is S.M.A.R.T. not appropriate for PCIe NVMe drives, or do I have something configured incorrectly?

    Makers of the drive will have a util on their site to monitor the drive check for new firmware and optimization for Windows

Does anybody know if Samsung is releasing a Gen 4 PCIe NVME SSD? I'm just wondering.
