    HP Photosmart c4500 not installing on Win10 over Apple Airport; error


    I'm normally a Mac user, i'm just updating my home network... I have an Apple Airport Extreme connected via LAN/ethernet to the main modem/router, and the HP Photosmart connects over USB to the AAE. All my iMacs and macbooks connect to the internet and find the printer with no problems. my dads Windows 10 laptop connects to the internet and finds the printer no problem, but on a Dell inspiron desktop, windows either can't find the printer, or finds it and can't print because of an error, but doesn't specify what the error is. said Dell can find the internet with no problems.

    when i try to print the test page, windows shows a notification that it's in an "error state", yet any other computer on the network can print just fine.

    Welcome to the forum. The problem normally is the drivers if it shared on a pc it can pick them up off the pc the other rhing is if its usb the printer comunicates with the pc. check the network setting on the pc that works what protocols has it got under network adapter you may be missing smb or simliar
