Can't connect TV to wireless display

I can't connect my Windows 10 desktop to my Samsung 7 Series TV as a wireless display. I have no problem connecting the TV to my Windows 10 laptop, but when I try to do connect my desktop it either fails to connect or it connects but the picture is all messed up.

What is the Model # of your Asus Desktop?
Go to the Asus download drivers site, find your model # and download the latest Bluetooth driver for your model

Thanks very much. I am trying to identify my model #. The instructions are to reboot the system and "Hit the "Del" key when you see the BIOS - EZ Mode, you can check information on the screen." And reading further on the Asus website, I see these instructions for entering the BIOS - EZ Mode:
    1. Turn on the computer or click "Start," point to "Shut Down" and then click "Restart."
    2. Press "Del" when the ASUS logo appears on the screen to enter the BIOS.

    3. Press"Ctrl-Alt-Del" to restart the computer if the PC boots to Windows before loading the setup program. Repeat Step Two following restart.

I have tried this a number of times, both holding down the delete key after rebooting as soon as I see the Asus logo appear as well as simply hitting the delete key a few times when I see the Asus logo appear, but it always boots to Windows rather than EZ - Mode. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks again. With this help I downloaded updated drivers for both bluetooth and wireless. They downloaded as zipped folders. Opening the zipped folders I double clicked the "install" files. Difficult to tell if it "did" anything as the only thing I could see when I clicked the install files was an instantaneous dialog window that immediately vanished. I tried to connect my TV to wireless display, and the same thing happened (picture all messed up). I rebooted the desktop and repeated - same thing. Do I need to do something other than just double click on the driver "install" icons? Thank you!

    Hi there
Not sure of what the hardware required is to do this -- how would you connect a normal TV to another display anyway whether wireless or not unless there was some setting on the TV to enable the TV to work in "Tuner mode only" and connect to an external (presumably wireless) display. In any case you'd have to have some sort of device built in to the TV or "connectable" which would act as a transmitter via wifi, or blutooth.

So I'm confused here. I have no probs with a laptop compter connecting to a wireless display or even a desktop if it had the appropriate wifi driver in it - laptop computers are geared for using external displays anyway -- but a TV to an external device for display !!!!!! - even with a video output connector you'd need to have some sort of wifi transmitter.

So I'm confused here -- perhaps I haven't understood the problem or what you are actually trying to do. A nice little diagram or sketch would help.

    Cheers

Hi. Just trying to use my large flat screen TV as the display for my computer - primarily to be able to watch video files on the large screen. This works perfectly with my Windows 10 laptop. I Just go into Display Settings, click on "connect to a wireless display," and it immediately "sees" my Samsung TV; I click on it and - voila! It connects and my TV is basically a duplicate display. However, when I do the exact same thing with my Windows 10 desktop, it connects to the TV but the picture is all messed up. Does that explain it? Thanks!

Maybe the OP can clear up the questions, What is the Make and Model of the TV? What protocol do they use to connect to their TV? Is it Bluetooth, or are you connecting WiFi.
Many driver files are Self Extracting, when you it finishes downloading, it automatically extracts to a place on the C: Drive. Something like C:\Drivers or some such.
Asus, may be different. When you download a Zipped driver file, Extract it to your desktop or download location. Open the extracted file and look for Setup.exe, double click this to start the install. If a Black DOS like window app[ears and closes immediately, that is the wrong setup file.

Thanks for the continued help, all. The TV is a Samsung 65 inch model UN65MU7000FXZA. The connection protocol is via the Windows 10 wi-fi Miracast technology. I extracted the downloaded, zipped driver files from the Asus website to folders on my C: drive. I have searched the extracted files, but I see no Setup.exe file. Indeed, I see no files that look like they are .exe files at all? There is a whole bunch of BIN files, two "application" files labeled QcomWlanSrvx64 and pnputil, a system file, a "windows batch file," a "security catalog," a "setup information" file, which opens a long complex notepad, and two files called Microsoft Common Console Documents.

Your tv has to have Miracast capabilities, That series does not have it. I have a Q6 65” and it uses the same firmware as yours does.
