    I have't tried the Sandbox feature yet, but as far as I am aware the only way for Sandboxed apps to access any files or folders outside of its own environment would be through the use of Sandbox Configuration files ( in which you can use the MappedFolders command ) as shown in the following articles.

    You can set up different configuration files (.wsb file extension) with the different sets of commands as required, enabling you to start the Sandbox feature with a particular environment. This way you may be able to share folders on the USB with read or read+write access rather than the whole USB which would not be allowed as far as I understand :

    update:

    I just switched on the Sandbox feature, and was able to share a folder from a USB flash ( E:\tzz see below ) on it. I used the following config file (sample.wsb which is already associated with Sandbox) and just double clicked it to start the Sandbox. I also tested the config file by disabling Network in the Config file.

    sample.wsb

    <Configuration>
    <VGpu>Default</VGpu>
    <Networking>Disable</Networking>
    <MappedFolders>
    <MappedFolder>
    <HostFolder>E:\tzz</HostFolder>
    <ReadOnly>false</ReadOnly>
    </MappedFolder>
    </MappedFolders>
    <LogonCommand>
    <Command>explorer.exe C:\users\WDAGUtilityAccount\Desktop</Command>
    </LogonCommand>
    </Configuration>

    Hope that helps you too.

    update 2:

    After changing the following entry in the Config file

    <HostFolder>E:\tzz</HostFolder>
    to
    <HostFolder>E:\</HostFolder>

    the whole USB drive is accessible in Sandbox ( but with all the files and folders available directly on the desktop (this is because the share gets mapped at C:\users\WDAGUtilityAccount\Desktop ).

    Where did you save it on YOUR system so that when you start Sandbox, it uses it ? Probably a dumb question, but ?????

    @storageman:

    You can save it anywhere you like, and also you can create as many different versions with any names you want ( just make sure you give them the .wsb extension which is the default extension for Sandbox Configuration files ). You then just have to double click whichever configuration file you want to start Sandbox with the settings given in that particular configuration file.
