On screen Brightness control stuck on screen

New installation of Windows 10 1809 Home edition
Every time I boot the computer the brightness control/slider is stuck on the screen and will not go away. It shows 100%. The f2 and f3 keys make the brightness go up and down as normal and the slider flashes a bit but the on screen slider does no go away.

Is there a setting for the delay or is this a driver issue in Windows 10?On screen Brightness control stuck on screen-brightness.jpg

    Thank you in advance.

That would be the Volume OSD.
Try adjusting the volume in the Taskbar.

    And...

Thank you for your reply, I'm not sure what is is. When I manually move it down the screen goes dim and then by itself goes back to brighter. After your message I tried the volume up/down keys and slider and it basically does the same thing. Pull it down and it automatically goes to full volume. Working the manual volume slider down near the lower right corner of the screen shows th same effect of always returning to full volume. Maybe I'll work on the audio driver.

Updated/changed the audio driver to the High Definition Audio Driver but the symptoms did not change.

I did some research on the web with using the phrase "On screen audio control stuck on screen" and found a good thread. Someone had posted that they had a sound control along the side of their computer and when they pressed it it changed the volume but it immediately went back to 100%. I tried that and it did exactly the same thing. I could turn the volume down and it would stay down while I held the button but when I released it it went back to 100%

Here is the page where I found the info.

It was the 3rd post (unholyfool) from the top. Another post (kl23h) mentioned having to replace the ribbon cable or the sound button itself that connects to that button. He swapped out the button and it solved his problem.

Fortunately I have another x360 that bricked when updating the bIOS the other day so I will swap the parts to see if it works.
