yes , I use "Remove_Drives_from_Navigation_Pane.reg" after every major update puts them back.
But I haven't found a good purpose in Microsoft having 2 copies of usb drives there, or putting back with the update.

Unfortunately, this one of those setting that keeps getting reset back to default often with feature updates.

I keep"Remove_Drives_from_Navigation_Pane.reg" Downloaded from here in my root directory
of my work drive along with add copy and move to reg.
Both are a bit of an annoyance.
