I have used this printer for several years for scanning as well as printing. No problems until I had to re-install Windows 10. The printer is working perfectly and now I now want to re-install the IJ scanner driver.This is: win-mg6600-1_0-mcd downloaded from the Canon site. (My printer is in the MG6600 series). When I turn the printer on it throws the folowing: "Information Acquisition Error" and "Failed to acquire info on the driver and software. Check the network connection and try again". I have re-downloaded the driver three times after switching the computer off for 20 secs, and re-starting, with the same result. (Windows 10 current edition.)

What can I do please (apart from buying a scanner)? Thanks.

EDIT: I have tried to download a (probably multi-use) scanner driver from a Windows site but it also failed.
