2nd ssd drive missing after wake up from sleep

I updated my Windows 10 yesterday.

SInce then, each time I wake up from sleep, my secondary ssd drive is missing.

I have to reboot the pc to see my ssd drive again.

Is there a thing I can try other than go to a previous Windows version ?

Installing "Intel RST" solved this for me, as suggested here : windows 10 - Secondary hard drive disappears after sleep - Super User

But what was the problem ?
What the installtion of RST did to my computer ?

Sounds like it installed the proper driver for your storage controller.

If you go to your laptop vendor site I imagine their is an IRST driver listed for your device. Not sure why Windows did not install a suitable driver.

    I see.

Or is it possible that "Intel RST" changes the default Windows "sleep" mode behavior ?

Awaking from sleep properly is based on the proper drivers being installed. Maybe there was a glitch in installation and the update overwrote.

When you machine is working the way you want it you should investigate making a backup Image. One tool is Macrium Reflect.

Backup and Restore with Macrium Reflect

Always easier to restore rather than install.

Thanks. For now I use Windows default imaging tool (windows 7). It still works great in Windows 10.

Have you tested booting from boot media and seeing if you can find image? Even MS says it is going to shelve it.

    Glad your system is working.

I can boot from recovery usb.

The full image is on a hard drive. Using the recovery options, I can install Windows using the image on the hard drive.
