    All USB devices get re-connected when plugging another one


    Hello,

    I have Windows 10 Home OS on my HP laptop, 2 WD 1 TB external hard drives, 1 flash drive.

    The issue is the following:

    When plugging the second HDD, all USB devices get re-connected.

    I just want to avoid re-connections when a new USB device is plugged.

    Is this behaviour expected or it's a configuration issue?

    That being a laptop with typically limited power output, it may need to readjust to added load and so resets all USB ports as they all get power from same source.
