Updated from Win 7 to Win 10, Microsoft keyboard doesn't work

I've recently updated from Win 7 to Win 10. I have a Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 keyboard, and since upgrading it no longer works in the Windows UI (not sure if that's the right term) or Internet Explorer.

So it doesn't work in the Windows search bar, in folder search, or anywhere in Internet Explorer. It does work in Firefox, other non-Windows apps like Steam, and in Windows Notebook. To search my computer I have to type a word into Notebook, then copy & past it into the search.

I've checked for driver updates but I have the most up to date ones. Is there anything I can do to make the keyboard fully work?

    thanks!

First, how did you upgrade from 7 to 10 ? Second, have you tested with a different keyboard ?
Something similar happened to me a while back- I couldn't type in Search boxes on computer or in ANY browsers, eg; could not search for subjects in this forum. Go to Device manager, delete the driver for the keyboard and restart, letting WU install it's own. If that fails, do what I did, a Repair install which fixed it for good w/o wasting more diagnostic time -
