    Hello, there.
I created an account specifically to share a solution for you guys, it worked for me, hope it will work for some of you too.

I cleared all the browsing data from the history tab (using Chrome), which includes: cookies and other site data and cached images and files. Then restarted my browser.

Hope this helps, try it even if your are using a different browser. I think it has something to do with cached data on the browser.

    Cheers!

Hi guys! I just got the same issue a while ago and after hours of searching for solution for this glitch, I found out that you just need to log out your account on facebook (the one with the issue), and then log in ANOTHER FACEBOOK ACCOUNT. Once you done that, log back in your facebook account (the one with the issue) and it should work properly.

I think, having to log another account in facebook resets the setting(glitch). TRY IT.

P.S: (I also believe clearing cache and deleting browsing history will fix this) but I don't want to clear cache or delete browsing history as I have important files (sites) in Chrome that's why I looked for alternative solution. :)

After Updating Samsung, Could it be?

I'm having the same problem and it's so frustrating. I thought I just pressed CTRL something so I tried using CTRL shift keys but it didn't work. So this is what happened. I updated my Samsung J4+ last night which is connected to my Windows. I don't know if this is the one that caused this glitch. But so far, I'm only experiencing this on Facebook chat. Then I tried shutting down and updating Windows, still the same thing happens.

Could it only be a Facebook bug or is it connected to Windows as well?

    Dear Windows 10 forums,

So i just re-installed windows on my computer because of an issue that I had for other reasons. It seemed to install fine.

But here's the problem (very weird).

As of right now, this only seems to be happening on Facebook Messenger, on Facebook.com, but for some reason whenever I send a message to someone, the first message sends fine. (This is pressing the "enter" key once, I thought maybe this would be worth noting)

But the second message I start typing, the FIRST LETTER immediately is sent to the END of the sentence, and the message gets ruined.

    Example:

    Attachment 230298

Also when this glitch is happening, if I hit "backspace", it jumps to the beginning of the word/sentence instead of backspacing properly.

I've tried every single keyboard setting possible and have googled everything and cannot figure out what's going on.

It seems to be only happening on Facebook Messenger right now so I'm not sure if it happens anywhere else. Is this a problem Windows 10? Is it a Facebook Messenger glitch?

    I also tried various browsers.

If anyone knows what's possibly going on I would appreciate some insight, this is really frustrating me as I use Facebook.com Messenger a lot to communicate.

P.S: The same error DOES NOT happen on http://www.messenger.com, which is very interesting. Maybe it's a Fcaebook issue? But why would this only happen after my reset of windows 10 OS?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help me with this small, but very annoying issue.

    Regards,

Thanks for all of the replies guys, I'm happy that I'm not the only one that thought I was going literally insane.

TEMPORARY FIX FOR EVERYONE: Use https://www.messenger.com/ until Facebook fixes it.

It seems like it's a Facebook issue and not a Windows 10 issue based on all of the replies that I've read, but this post should probably stay alive for a little while longer until the exact problem is identified and solved.

Thanks again for the replies guys.

I signed up for an account here as well, just to comment on this issue.

I'm on a Mac and it was happening to me too.

Clearing everything (history, cookies, cache, etc) seems to have worked for now!

I just joined here to add that it's happening to me too. I'm on Windows 2000 Pro. messenger.com seems to work, as does Pidgin with the Facebook plugin.
