Can a laptop use an adjacent PC's Disk Drive to upload a M.S. Program

I bought Office 2007 for home and student new in 2007, I use it on my PC with MS10, My Son who is severely autistic and does not need anything else, it was on his previous laptop, but his new MS10 ACER Aspire does not have a disk drive to read the Office program on the disk, the previous one did. In the past I have transferred photos from a Tablet to the PC, but I need the laptop to control the PC DD, if possible, and for MS to be given the Disk Codes of ownership by the laptop.
I appreciate MS have 365 , 2019 etc but 2007 is perfectly good for our needs.
The PC is connected to a router by ethernet cable and the Laptop uses a WiFi to connect to the same router, Currently there is no network of PC and laptop / Tablets / connection.
I use Google as my Browser on the PC, but MS seems to want to switch to Bing whenever it can on the Laptop, when I try to set up Google as it is familar for us all.
    Any advice will be welcome.

Put the MS Office disc in your computer with the CD/DVD drive. In File Explorer, go to the View tab, and put a check in Hidden Files to view them.
Put in a blank USB Flash drive of at least 4GB or more capacity, in the same computer and copy all of the files on the CD/DVD to the USB flash drive.
Put the USB flash drive in the computer without the CD drive and open the Flash drive and double click Setup.exe to install Office.
To switch Search engines in Chrome go to the 3 dots on the upper right of the toolbar. Go to Settings/Search Engine and choose Google.

By "Disk Codes of ownership" I think you mean the MSOffice 2007 "Product key". If that is what you are after then it can be retrieved from an installed copy of MSOffice 2007 on the old computer using Belarc.

The product key was originally provided on a card or sticker with the MSOffice 2007 disks. My disks came in a solid plastic swing-open case and the product key was on a coloured sticker put in the casing in such a position that it would only be seen when the case was swung open. Perhaps yours is in a similar location.

The simpler way is to copy all files from DVD to a USB Flash drive and start setup from there. You could also make the DVD drive shared so you can access it from the other computer (I have done that). To see the Office key of the other computer you could use a utility such as AIDA64.

Or just buy an external DVD drive. You connect it to the laptop with a USB cable.
These cost $30 or less. Simple.

Thank you spunk, Try3, spapakons, and margrave. each reply would solve the problem. I am certain I will be able to do get it loaded again with your helpful suggestions. It is as Try 3 suggests. the swivel case with a disk inside, and the product key label is still there, but now also with a Larger Marker Pen copy on the box, for ease of looking at when typing it in , to verify as been needed from time to time. I did not want to experiment joining up the two computers physically unless I had a script to follow. as I was thinking originally, It would have been needed to have to connect the computers in a network, where the PC controls the laptop or V.V. I will mark the problem as solved, Thank you all again.

To control a computer from another you can try TeamViewer, Anydesk or similar applications. However these are not recommended for watching a video because unless you have a really fast connection between them (on the same LAN), there will be lags.

Thank you again everybody, you can be certain I will in due Course try out all your recommendations. but for quickness I will seek out a disk drive,, that can act like the missing drive on the laptop, There was a drive on the earlier version of the same laptop. any ideas for a good drive, that can read and play dvd's / CDs and Computer programs where they exist. or copy dvd/ cd files I think the term is Rip off, with specialist programs. I only know *.* from years ago.

For Data CD/DVD's you don't need to Rip them, as spapakon and I have told you, you can copy the files from the Disc to a USB Flash drive. Flash drives can be formatted and reused. But if you have a lot of CD/DVD's you might want to invest in a USB CD/DVD burner drive https://www.amazon.com/s?k=usb+cd%2F...b_sb_ss_i_1_10
