Hi all,,, I have an Epsom XP255 printer which I have in another room that I want to be always ready but it always turns off itself after a certain amount of time, is there anyway I can make it always available please as I cannot see how to do it. My previous HP printer used to stay on.
Thanks in advance to any replies.

There is normally an option in Printer Properties to control the printer's sleep behaviour. If this isn't present I suggest you contact Epson support to see if the feature is supported.

Epson will just send you the link for the manual. All printers are set to go into a sleep state when not printing. Your printer does not allow for these changes. https://content.etilize.com/User-Manual/1048150602.pdf. See page 93.

You sure? The manual says (on page 92) that is has a Sleep mode timer as well as a power off timer.

    3. Select the time period before the printer enters sleep mode as the Sleep Timer setting, and click Send. To make the printer turn off automatically, select the time period as the Power Off Timer setting, and click Send.
My Epson ET-4750's manual says the same. From its from panel menu I can turn off the the power down timer and set a Sleep timer instead. In its Sleep standby mode it will wake if I send it a print job.

I did find the window in question and the turn off time says 4hrs with an option to change up to 12 hrs but when I select 12hrs and send to printer it says updating then changes back to 4hrs.
I wish I had never bought it now.

All printers have a preset default set time for sleep/power down state. There is no way to override it. Unless you are doing hundreds or thousands of jobs, the printer will go to eco mode when not needed for a printer job.

On my Epson ET-4750 printer the Settings on the front control panel has 'Sleep Timer' and 'Power Off Settings' under 'Basic Settings'. The timer can only be set between 1 to 240 minutes. With Power Off turned on it will power down completely at the end of the timer period. With it turned off the printer goes into a Sleep standby mode instead of turning off.
