    Install Old Printer Drivers

I have an old Canon MF3240 Multifunction Laser Printer. I have installed this printer on a Windows 10 Machine in the past. This is a USB connected installation.

The most recent drivers for this printer were for Windows 8. The driver files are in a folder. There is no installer program or exe to run. Normally I will plug in the printer, it will be unrecognized by Windows. I go into Device Manager > Properties > Update Driver > Search for drivers on my PC > Pick the folder > Next, and the printer will install - Printer, Scanner, Fax.

On this new Windows 10 Pro 1809 install I do the same thing and it works, except it only installs the scanner. It does not install the printer of fax drivers.

I tried deleting the scanner and fax .cab files from the folder, but it won't install at all that way.

I tried installing the printer from the old W10 PC it is still installed on, hoping it would find those drivers and install that way but no joy.

I'm out of ideas here. Any help?

@TV2, have you tried the Windows 8.1 (x64) driver package MF3240_MFDrivers_W64_us_EN.exe from here?

    Canon Support | MF3240

I have just successfully used it to add a MF3240 printer in Win 10 Pro 1809 using 'Add a printer' in Control panel. Of course, I don't actually have the printer to test it, but it seems installed correctly. Maybe the package is more up to date, or maybe it worked because I used the Control Panel route to do the install...

    That's a good idea Bree.

That is the package I am using, but I am trying to install it from Device Manager.
Let me see what happens with Add A Printer....

    First problem:
When I get to the part where I choose: "Add a Local Printer...." the next step is to choose the Port.
It is connected by USB, and there are 3 USB ports.
USB001 is connected to my Epson Printer.
Not sure if I should use USB002 or USB 003.
    I have a powered HUB.

That did it! Thanks Bree!! I owe you a beer.
I still have an unknown device MF3200, but I'm pretty sure that is the scanner part of it.
But the printer is installed now.
