any laser risk from cheaper mouse?

Hi all, thanks all for helping with my concern. I'd like to take this chance to ask another question. Tonight I saw somebody using something like laser pointer in a park and the guy pointed
it to the paper they are looking at, I was about 10 meter away from the pointer. As soon as I saw that his pointer's light was towards me, I looked away immediately and walked away immediately. I know sometimes I could be very sensitive or
even over reacting to strange light sources, but I still wish to know if consumer laser pointer could be dangerous to our eyes when it's 10 meter from us? And also, how about bar code scanner we can find every day? Especially when they are active and waiting for the code, the red light is often particularly strong

This one is non visible light no dot, nothing to be seen by the naked eye. It has a 400cm range which is more than enough for what I'm using it for. This rover goes at a pretty slow clip.
Just didn't want to have to worry about my cat or dog having an up close look see sniff etc. Or my grand kids picking it up for a look see etc.

Getting back to original topic, I use trackballs so no light coming out the bottom anyway. The sensor is aimed up at the ball. The only time I ever see it is when I take the ball out to clean it lol.

Any recommendation for trackballs nowadays?

I used to be a trackballs super fans in late 90s. I forget which brand and which model it was and no way to trace it back to 20 years ago but the trackball was on the upper left corner while the two keys are on the upper left corner. It was the best trackball and I forget which brand or model it was, it was 20+ years ago.... anybody has idea?

A few years ago I tried logitech trackball bought on Amazon, it was just... so bad...

The red in barcode scanners is really weak (you can check it in the earlier Wikipedia link).

Some laser pointers are strong - I remember reading about pilots being dazzled and crashing but that may be an urban myth.

The guy in the link below got sentenced to 14 years (later reduced to 5) for flashing a $8 laser pointer at a helicopter in California though - make of it what you will... It was green if that sets you mind at rest.

Logitech M570 is what I'm using. Ball is on the left for thumb use and the two buttons are top and slightly to the right. One of the things I like about it is that I can link it to my Logitech keyboard and only use the one wireless dongle for both. There are better quality trackballs out there, I just don't like their layout etc.

Yes M570 was the trackball I used, but it went hard to control after some months, even after I cleaned out the dust from the trackball

It was in the US, not in my country. In my country, bast ..ards who use green laser improperly won't be sentenced or even brought to the court
