Right side of keyboard has its characters changed when num lock is on.

Right side of keyboard has its characters changed when num lock is on.

I've had this issue for a while. What happens is that if i turn num lock on (which lets me use the numpad's numbers) the right side of the letter keyboard turns into different characters (the letter "o" changes to a 5, ";" changes to a "+" ,and so on).

Sometimes the problem will fix after a shutdown or restart with the numlock off. But then it will come back at another boot. If i uninstall the device and plug the keyboard back in it fixes but after a restart it happens again. Any ideas?

    Hi TurboHonk !
This is very similar to the keyboard of a laptop that does not have a keypad.
You must review the choice of your keyboard in "Settings", "Time & Language", "Language". At the bottom choose the keyboard (delete the useless ones) then the "options" button.
Your "extended" keyboard is a 102-key if it has a numeric keypad (basic).

Im not sure if i understood, but i checked and i only had one Keyboard selected as well as one language. There werent any other keyboards to delete.

Like @JCMacintosh said the system thinks you are using a keyboard without a separate numeric keypad. So the num-lock makes the way it work the way it does on a laptop keyboard.

If you don't have an extra keyboard to delete in settings then try to add one (in same language) then delete the other.

Frequently, such keyboards have the "alternate" numeric keys indicated in a different color from the main keys. On past IBM laptops & desktops, it was in light blue.

Hold down the FN key and press the Num Lock key once. This converts the keyboard to be all letters again.
