Possible Cooling Issues--Asus G11CD-K Pre Built Desktop

    Hello All

Installed a EVGA G3 Power supply many many months ago, (650 watt) anyways lately when i'm gaming noticed my rear exhaust fan isn't exhausting much air, is all that hot air going up into Power supply fan to exhaust instead? (Case only allows mounting at the top)

Replaced fan with a spare fan i had (used one) but seems to be keeping temps normal for now.

Should i have a local shop transfer all hardware to a more modern gaming case? unforuately that is one of my downsides transferring hardware to a new case, not too good with cpu fans or heatsinks either, Dust clean out was done best i could recently

video card fan cleaned as best i could, hopefully i did a good job on it lol

Asus software has the fan control mode set as silent, should I set that for performance mode?

Hard to know anything without actual degree measurements.

You can use something like Hwinfo to show you all temps and fan speeds.

Experiment with the fan settings in the BIOS---try something other than "silent" if you are concerned. That setting may keep fan rpm down in the 600 range when the fan might easily run at double that speed on other settings.

Some folks are temperature obsessed and go fan crazy, even though temps are well within specifications and not a threat. But we don't know your temps.

I certainly wouldn't think about another case without a lot more information.

What are your typical room temperatures? That has a nearly 1 to 1 correlation with internal temps.

Typical room temps are around 68F to 75F, usually not much difference there, System temps coming up with hardware info, this is at usual load, with Second Life Game Open, Video lan player playing a DVD, I can get Idle temps later on with nothing open as well if that helps

Highest showed during battlefield 4 gaming was 76C for CPU, which for a stock heatsink for the processor might be fine, after gaming video card showed at 43C, then cooled to upper 30's as shown there

Your system specs say the PC has only 1 fan----120 mm at the rear.

Your screen shots show 4 fan speeds.

    Which is correct?

I wouldn't be particularly concerned with 76 degree CPU when gaming on the stock cooler.

It has one rear fan, but i was wrong on the size in specs, it's actually 92mm rear exhaust fan, Then video card below that, and then CPU Fan, and Power supply fan is only fans in the system

Yeah i figured that wasn't a serious problem when gaming with Stock cooler CPU wise

Most cases have a mount for a front fan, which should help a few degrees.

Does your case have a front mount?

Have you tried changing from silent fan mode in BIOS?

You can likely knock temps down quite a bit with an aftermarket cooler. Spend maybe 40 to 60.

Or ignore temps so long as you know they are not alarmingly high.

Looks like possibly do have a front mount, i'd have to check for 100 percent sure on that aspect though and find a fan that fits that spot, Might have shop install an aftermarket cooler for the CPU, and may get Front fan at same time in the coming future here.

Heres a picture from another site review that shows the possible spot for front fan

Mine is I7 7700, 16gb of ram, upgraded Power supply for future video card possible upgrade (right now Geforce 1050 2gb), 1 Western Digital SSD, 1 Western Digital black 1tb hard drive, and EVGA G3 650 Watt Power supply

Saw a review on that model on youtube. Didn't say anything about front fan mounts, but did say that the CPU cooler is not the expected stock Intel. Might not matter at all, but I'd guess it was one way Asus thought they could save a few bucks.

Yeah not much mentioned on front fan mounts in youtube reviews i've watched before. Guess as long as temps stay normal guess i won't worry too much on it, As for video card upgrade as long as current games run fine, may not bother with that as yet--let the prices fall more, or whole system prices fall perhaps, and maybe pickup the newer upgraded Model at some point

Asus GL12 based system maybe, But will see for sure what I do in coming months

Or if i was to purchase this card would it fit and work fine in my current system
