    Problem adding 2nd ssd


    I have an ssd for my boot drive, trying to add a 2nd ssd. The ssd is ok tested it externally with a USB adapter, but when I install it to my pc, it’s not showing in the bios or windows.

    tried known power supply and Sata lead, but still not showing.

    any ideas please

    Hi, have you allocated it a drive letter? Try a 3rd party partition manager e.g. Minitool Partition Wizard and see if that can see it.

    It’s not showing in the bios, so won’t show anywhere else, tried mini tool partition manager doesn’t show.....plug it into a USB port with an adapter and it’s fine

    Ah - missed that. Maybe
    SSD disk not showing up in BIOS - Super User
    The BIOS does not detect or recognize the Solid State Drive | Seagate Support US

    Will have a look, there are at least two places in the bios where hdds are specified, find it a little confusing
