How can I solve BSOD after enabling RAID in ASUS UEFI? (Z390 chipset)

    And that is why you can't boot windows after you made the change to "RAID", since it was installed under "ACHI". Maybe you should look into one or more of those Hybrid Drives that provide an active Cache management system. It keeps active data in the cache memory on the controller giving you SSD like performance.

    Yeah - considering how much time a reinstall would take in my case, it's not really a good option.
    I'm now looking at PrimoCache which doesn't require me to switch to RAID. I installed the trial and set it up to "cache task" my large 5TB drive. I don't know how to measure its efficiency though. If the numbers work, I would possibly buy the license. If they don't, then I'd just live with the reading speed of my 7200RPMs.
