    Mouse speed has become excessive

My mouse speed has become excessive to the point where even the slowest pointer speed is too fast
Not sure exactly when this started but likely within the last handful of builds
It's not the mouse per se (an Anker upright mouse) as other mice appear to be similarly affected
    Any ideas?

So sounds like you've tried other mice? Have you tried a different USB slot out of interest. I have expirenced this in the past and weirdly swapping the USB port from front to back/vice versa worked for me. Although, this almost sounds more software related than hardware.

Yes I've swapped USB ports but to no avail
Also tried uninstalling the driver and allowing it to reinstall on reboot

    Do you have this disabled?

Also "Display pointer trails" bellow can be enabled with an update causing some issues with mouse.

    Display pointer trails is disabled
Enhance pointer trails is enabled and always has been as I find this useful
However, I'm surprised how much slower the mouse is with this off
Shouldn't it just relate to precision or is this a symptom of my speed issue?

Stupid question: have you adjusted Pointer Speed in the Pointer Options tab in the Mouse control panel?

When you check device manager, what mouse is installed under Mice and other pointing devices?

Maybe it would help to uninstall all devices from there and then restart, using keyboard.

I uninstalled the two 'HID-compliant mouse' entries and restarted to no avail
