    I'm getting the same issue, also with a Logitech mouse. It will usually start working after a couple of re-starts, then stops again next time I boot up. I usually have to restart the pc twice after each boot-up to get the mouse to work.

    Very frustrating! I'm guessing that a driver isn't loading properly, but really don't have enough knowledge to go about proper trouble shooting. Anyone here have any ideas?

    Drivers are all up to date according to windows. I think next time it fails to work, I'll dig out an old wired mouse and run a performance report to see if any services etc have crashed. Might give a clue I guess.

    Do you have setpoint (I believe this is for logitech mice)?
    When the mouse stops, the rest of the computer works (not a full freeze)

    I do indeed have set point, and, as you say, the rest of the PC continues working, just the mouse is in dead.

    Did it again this morning, and I discovered that:

    • Perf Report shows no errors;
    • unplugging the Logitech reciever and plugging back in fixes the issue

    Not sure what this implies - something to do with a service or driver not loading quickly enough perhaps? (just guessing here, as you can probably tell)

    Cheers,

    Whilst doing some work, my mouse suddenly 'failed', cursor frozen nothing in mouse. After plugging in another mouse, I checked device manager and found that Win 10 had installed it as an Hid complaint mouse. So I went to logitech, downloaded smart installer (win 10), it would not work, refused to complete installation. Went back and selected x64 bit download and it worked perfectly. My logitech mouse now back to full functionality.

    (copied from its own thread)

    go here and scroll down select xbit for your machine, dont use smart installer

    i had the same problem, what you need to do is go to device manager, select the mouse and other pointers and click on the mouse drive and click drivers and then roll back the driver. Windows 10 automatically updates the drivers when it is installed. They don't always work properly depending on your system, so if you roll back the driver, it will work as it did again.

    Hopefully that helps!!
