It is being done. Thanks for your reply.
during the last three boots, the errors occurred reached 1357, but after running the commands below in addition to the one you suggested, the number of errors stopped at the same number (1357), but the performance is still 96%.
chkdsk c: /r
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanupDism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealthSFC /scannow
Hi there
Why not copy the whole kybosh to an SSD -- performance gain on SSD compared with standard HDD needs to be tried to be believed. 250GB SSD's are available these days for around 30 USD / EUR.
I only ever use HDD's now for sizes of > 2TB and have them on NAS server with RAID. On laptops etc I always have an SSD for windows and smallish amounts of data (250GB or 512GB SSD).
Cheers
jimbo
I think the problem started to occur after the last Onedrive update.
Have you tried to defrag the disk? Windows build-in defrag utility is not the best, try Auslogics Free Defrag and do the full defrag (defrag and optimize). Then see if performance is better. Also scan and remove any PUPs, spywares or viruses. Most often performance issues are due to spywares consuming all the available resources. Another culprit could be temperature. Clean the interior of your computer.
