Need Help To Get My 256 GB USB Stick Back

Apparently I've made a serious mistake here. Did a Macrium Reflect Rescue Media and a Back-Up to this 256 GB Flash Drive. That exercise took over a half hour for what used to take less than 20 minutes. Didn't realize process reformatted it to FAT32. Tried Disk Management to deal with getting me back to NTFS and the 256 GB capacity. I blew that and right now it won't even format. I really need this thing as a hedge against tomorrow's expected WU. Where do I go from here? Help! Appreciate your time, thanks.

Keep in mind, if I knew what I'm doing I wouldn't have done this in the first place.

    Hi dude
You can try recover partition with Minitool Partition Wizard.
    Option Partition Recovery.

"Unallocated" means that you somehow have deleted the partition. You'll need to create one before you can format the device.

In Windows, a gigabyte is 2^30 bytes, rather than 10^9. The arithmetic says that a 256 GB device would be reported as 238.42 GB. I don't know where the extra 80MB came from.

I've got my Stick back! Thanks for the help. I did a little more Google and Cortana searches and was getting it figured out. Then one more search returned a link to SanDisk that has a more or less step by step using Disk Management and it was a simple process. Lesson learned. Won't do that again.

Your efforts are sincerely appreciated. Now and then I need a "keeper".

You should be able to right-click on the Unallocated space for disk 1 in Disk Management then select 'New Simple Volume'. Then follow the steps in the 'Wizard' that opens to create and format a new partition.

Thanks @Bree. Yep. That's what worked. Have to say I hesitated and restarted the process. Wanted to make SURE I was on the right disk.
