Alps driver update for Alps Pointing-device keeps coming up

    Good day.

This is driving me crazy. Windows update is supposedly finding this update every time I run WU.
Computer is a Toshiba Satellite laptop model C55D A-14E that is working fine with w10 v1809 [17763.292]
Alps touchpad driver is v8.100.303.509 (2013) which is working fine too.

Is there any way to stop WU from downloading this supposed update every reboot? This is frigging annoying.

PS - I checked Toshiba support and the only driver I could find is the same one, same version.

Hello eLPuSHeR, I have a "windows show or hide applet that is from microsoft" It's pretty old, but I just found it from Google search.
Use the Show or Hide Updates tool to block unwanted Windows 10 updates, including drivers | Digital Citizen
Scroll down to the "where to get the show or hide tool" and it provides a link to download it. I just d/l and ran it, so it at least runs OK. As to whether it works, it found an update for Silverlight that W/U keeps giving me and I hid it. So..... we will see, it always worked in the past. YMMV

Yes, well aware of that. I have a rather extensive file of reg hacks from Bink. It's setup for my machine on resets, clean installs and the like, but I would never suggest something, especially something rather old, even from Bink that I hadn't tried before posting. An old habit of mine from hanging out on too many dicey forums where too many folks want to increase their post count and rep. But thanks anyway and my google search gets me where I want to go better than this forum's custom google search.
But I thank you anyway Bree. I did make it look like I needed that advice...lol, I'm rather old and set in my ways.
