    hard drive partition query

I have a Hp Pavillion 500-242 ea pc ...few years old now...came with Windows 8...Now i have installed Windows 10 pro with latest upgrades and use this pc mainly for testing programs instead of using my my main Asus Pc.

Now my question is...Hp Pavillion has a 1TB hard drive with only Windows 10 pro and three third party apps and yet
when i check pc properties and disc management...quite a lot of space is used up and i am puzzled.

i have attached 3 desktop screenshots..a and b refers to Hp Pavillion and c refers to my main Asus pc with Windows 10 pro and lots of third party apps and shows loads of space available.

Can some partitions be deleted from Hp Pavillion?hard drive partition query-c.jpghard drive partition query-.jpghard drive partition query-b.jpg

You need to use free partition software move the forth OEM partition to the right into the unallocated space the you can grow c by 800 gigs. If you don't want the OEM partition you can delete it and grow c more simply

The right-most partition would be used to reset your PC to 'as bought' - Win 8. If you never wish to do that you can delete it, or save it on another disk if you wish to keep it.

    I have another partition now

Following Samuria suggestion..i used EaseUs partition master free version but got another unallocated partition.
i have attached fresh desktop screenshots...a... refers to EaseUs,b refers to Windows disc management.

I can move and delete the partitions in blue but cannot delete or move the unallocated partitions

I would do as Dalchina suggested. Backup original Win8 OEM partition (in case you need it) and repartition and clean install w10 (yes, it's a lot of work, but the disk structure will be tidy that way).

If you do a clean install, you will remove all partitions constituting Windows- so then there's no need to use a partition manager.

If your Windows is working, you just need to use a partition manager appropriately. You will most likely need to do that at some point.

But of course, the choice is yours. Good luck.

    Hard drive query

I in error deleted a partition in my Hp Pavillion pc that was required for Windows.I could not use pc reset or pc refresh using advanced options. So, i downloaded media creation tool to my main Asus pc and created a usb flash drive installation and used this to install a fresh copy of Windows 10 in Hp Pavillion pc...hey presto..it worked.

I have another issue regarding upgrading from Windows 10 home to Pro relating to windows product key ..which i post in general support section
