Windows won't release my USB (svchost)
I'm having trouble removing my USB flash drive from the PC.
I went to taskbar clicked on the securely remove hardware link chosing my usb drive and got a message that the hardware can't be removed because it is beeing used.
So I went to resource monitor to check which processes are using g: (my usb) and got this:
So went in to command prompt and did a
taskkill /im explorer /f
explorer.exe
to finish and reopen the explorer process
Now the explorer processes are not using G: anymore but the 2 svchost processes are still using it this:
G:\$Extend\$Objld:$O:$INDEX_ALLOCATION
G:\System Volume Information\tracking.log
I tried finishing the svchost process before like I finished explorer but from what I remember the system crashed and had to be restarted that time.
Is there a way to release my USB securely without having to turn off the computer? Thanks in advance.
