Samsung DVD Write SH224DB/RSMS not recognised

    Hi all.
I have upgraded to window 10 about a week ago and I have Samsung DVD Write SH224DB/RSMS DVD supawriter, in my pc desk top pc and since upgrading to windows 10 I can't use it, it do's not even show in the devise manager or any online hardware dives programs.
I do know it has power to the device but will not read and disc or film disc.

I am now at my wits end, I know it works in windows 7 pro as I returned to the system to find out.

Please can someone out there help me with this.

I have also checked with the Samsung website for anything to help me out but found nothing.

    Many thanks
    The trainman.

Does it show up in the BIOS of your system? If so, then it is connected properly. Then, you may need to focus on the controller it is connected to.

    I'm having this same issue.

Wonder if Samsung will release a firmware update?

No it do's not show up anywhere on my pc, BIOS, Device Manager or anywhere.
There is power going to the DVD writer and the door opens and closes, it just will not read the disc's I know, as I have said it works fine and dandy on windows 7 pro 64bit but not windows 10 64bit.
so it has got to have something to do with windows 10.

If it is not even showing up in the bios, the drive is toast or a bad cable. How old is the computer, and is it one that you had built, or did you buy it from say Dell, HP, etc.?

The drive is only a month old I have checked the SATA cable and that's fine, as I said earlier, I went back to windows 7 pro 64 bit and it worked on then and I have just put it in another machine and is working properly on that, so it has got to be windows 10 that's causing the trouble.
