Windows 10 not registering Mouse Scroll Wheel input

My mouse scroll has stopped working.
Problem first occurred after resuming a standbyed windows, the active window was a Firefox page showing Twitch.
My mouse is a Trust GXT 105, it is wired USB.
It's not just a window scrolling issue. I have loaded up some games and the input isn't getting through to them either.

    So far I have tried:
    Unplugging and replugging the mouse
    Searching for new driver
    Uninstalling the driver
Disabling scroll on non-selected windows in the mouse settings
    Changing the scroll speed
    Disabling all non windows services
Starting up with no additional programs running
Doing that with the mouse driver uninstalled
Power button 12s shutdown and reboot
None of that seems to have done the trick
    Please help?

    Hi, welcome to tenforums.

    Suggest you try:
    a. A different mouse
    b. Safe mode (will use different driver)
    c. Check inside mouse- dirt can get into mouse around the scroll wheel - I find cat hairs accumulate
    d.Check the value of

    "WheelScrollLines"="0" - probably disables scrolling.

I have the same problem. Happened after the update to 1809 or a patch that followed there. Its not that it wont scroll at all. It does but very weird in behavior. As if its missing inputs at times but not in others. Scrolling in any direction may or may not move the page/list/other function.

Its not easy to explain... Sometimes one cannot move in a list at all when scrolling, it just goes a bit down and up again. Other times when doing it very slow it may work for a few seconds. But its overall not really usable anymore.

ScrollLines is at 1, where i set it to in config. But i tried other values, the sketchieness stays same just that it moves a bit more.

Its a HAMA uRage neo that doesnt need drivers (they dont have one even to download)

The only thing I've seen resulting in inconsistent scrolling is when dirt, fluff - cat hairs especially- have got inside the mechanism.

However, sometimes a browser is unresponsive- I guess that's internet related. Is the 'stickiness' purely related to using a browser?
