    Precision touchpad Native Windows driver?

ok, so I have been working on this issue for a while now. I finally found something in my manuals that states the touchpad is a Precision so dell does not have a driver for it. the trackpad depends on the windows native driver.
All settings/devices/touchpad is the only settings that I can find to apply any options at all. The one option I need the most on this tiny little keyboard is for the touchpad to turn off when my mouse is present.
Precision touchpad Native Windows driver?-touchpad-settings1.pngPrecision touchpad Native Windows driver?-touchpad-settings2.png So how an I missing the option to turn off the trackpad when a mouse is present. Or Rather what do I need to do to get that setting to show up? This is all new to me, all the last 4 or 5 Notebooks had trackpad software with settings. all had the very important turn off the trackpad when a mouse is present?? Any ideas on how to solve this. Am I missing something on the touchpad settings page?

First check if there is a key or key combination on the keyboard to disable the touchpad. One other method is to disable the touchpad from Device Manager, but you will need a Mouse to enable it again. A simple trick that my dad did is to cover the touchpad with a post-it or a small paper so you won't touch it while typing.

yes no Fn key combo to turn it off. hard to believe that a new 2019 notebook on Windows 10 Pro doesn't have this setting somewhere. or even a device in Device manager. I guess its there somewhere but it has to be in code in the HID section. The whole thing is just a mystery to me Dell tech support didn't even know that it was a precision touchpad and was only supported by native windows drivers

All Dell devices come with a Service Tag (the part number). Go to Dell support site and input the service tag or whatever other code is on a sticker under the keyboard. You will find out if there is any driver or utility you can use.

Yes, I have already done this, and also contacted there Pro Plus Tech support so far none of them even knew that the trackpad is A Precision and Dell doesn't have a driver for it. I found this information in the Technical Manual myself. So this should be a windows issue, All Dell wants to do is Clean install on a Clean install updated to 1809. Basically, they have no clue how to solve the issue. Where the Windows Native driver is or the name of it, or where its located in Device manager

Ok, I have been able to solve this issue.
I downloaded Dell command 3.0 Dell-Command-Update_4374J_WIN_3.0.0_A00.exe, and Installed.
After a reboot, Dell Command update ran and offered me two downloads
    1. Wifi driver
    2. Intel serial IO driver
I installed the Intel IO Driver: Chipset_Driver_C67R4_WN32_30.100.1727.1_A01_01.EXE
Boom on reboot trackpad is disabled and checking windows/settings/devices/Trackpad is listed as Your PC has a precision trackpad, and all the windows setting for the trackpad are there.

To be clear today I did call Dell Pro Plus tech support and lucked out getting a tech that was switched on, we were able to figure this out in about 15 minutes and have it solved in 30 minutes. So this was a hardware issue, not a windows problem.

When I couldn't resolve the touchpad issue I simply removed the bottom cover of my Dell Inspiron and unplug the touchpad cable.
I didn't need the touchpad for any reason. It was a pain every time I hit the space bar. This fix worked for me but maybe not for you if you still want to use the touchpad. If anyone find a simpler answer reply in CAPS text

A simple way to disable the touchpad is to disable the respective device in Device Manager, Mice etc. In most laptops it is the Synaptics touchpad or other touchpad. Old school method that my father did was to cover the touchpad with a post-it to avoid accidentally touching it, but this is not very successful neither good looking.
