Recovery partition has reset to Disk0

Hi forum people,

I noticed this morning that my recovery partition (it used to be D drive) could not be found.
I ran Disk Management and found that my external drive (it used to be G drive) had been re-assigned to D drive and my D drive was coming up as (Disk 0 partition 1) Healthy OEM partition and (Disk 0 Partition 2) Healthy EFI System Partition.

I ran the command prompt and tried mountvol (I tried a few letters, D, T, S, O) but it came up as access is denied.

I'm the only user and administrator on this computer, so I tried adding user1 to see if it would make a difference, but it doesn't seem to have.

I'm sorry I'm rather unfamiliar with programming and prompts so I'm feeling a bit lost.
If anyone has any suggestions or could guide me through how to mount my Recovery partition back on it would be greatly appreciated.

EDIT: I realised I was missing a bit of information. I managed to reassign my external to G drive using Disk manager and it has remained as G drive for the few restarts I've performed.
Unfortunately when I try to assign a letter to the Disk 0s it only comes up with [Help] and I can't assign any letters or really interact with it in any way. So that's when I tried the command prompt. Sorry I missed that.

The Recovery partition created when Windows is installed (if any) is < around 500Mb and has no drive letter. I'm therefore unsure to which recovery partition you are referring.

Could you please state what you believe is in it or what it is there for?

I would suggest you disconnect any external disks, download and install a copy of Minitool Partition Wizard (free) or Aomei Partition Assistant, expand all columns as necessary so text is complete and visible, and post a screenshot.

It sounds as if your PC is booting normally- please confirm.

Drive letters assigned to external drives:
By default, Windows simply assigns the next available letter when one is plugged in. Thus this letter can vary depending on what devices are attached, for example.

If you assign a drive letter to an external disk, then provided that letter is not assigned subsequently to any other disk, the first disk will always be assigned that letter when it is plugged in if it is available.

Thus if you have a disk used for back purposes, e.g. it is useful to assign it a letter such as R or W late in the alphabet, and thus unlikely to be used by anything else.

Your screenshot looks as one would expect to see the disk layout...
All Appears Normal...

This is a normal disk layout for a GPT disk in Windows 10 by default
