    Shortcut to enable touchpad

I have a long standing issue with my touchpad just randomly disabling. This forum has helped loads in trying to fix this but we can't get to the bottom of it. Even had someone open up the laptop to check the hardware but still the same.

What I have resorted to is having a shortcut to the Elan Mouse Properties on my desktop and when the mouse disables I have to try and navigate to this via the keyboard.... Go to mouse settings.. Elan.. And select enable mouse.

Can anyone think of an easier way to do this? Have a shortcut that goes straight to the enable mouse part or write me a batch file (I wouldn't know where to start).

    Thanks in advance Bart

Some laptops have an Fn key + function key combo to enable and disable the touchpad. If your laptop has this feature, try pressing the button or keys to turn the touchpad on and off a few times, to see if that resolves the issue.

I managed to use the F5 key to enable and disable the touchpad. I can't believe this worked and I've been missing it all this time. I did hace the function keys set 2 special functions so you have to press the FN key and the function to make it work but I change that reason Lee to make them all standard function keys and when I tried it it worked perfectly so I will use that for now thank you again for your help
