    USB Enclosure Disconnecting Alot


    Hello All

    Toshiba 2TB, USB enclosure, connected to front available 2.0 port, worked fine for a long while, and then this evening started disconnecting, and wondering why that is happening?

    Antivirus in use currently
    Avast Free 19.1.2360

    USB devices connected
    1 USB 3.0 Flash drive
    1 USB 3.0 External drive (doing copy of files from one drive to another, and from internal storage to the externals--aka updating the 2tb drive)
    USB Keyboard--G213, G502 Mouse, Logitech G933 2.4 WIreless adapter, (would that have any effect)

    Windows 10 Pro 1809 x64

    Probably needs a new cable hopefully not a bad connector

    Ok will look into getting a newer cable, and hopefully thats all that it is, replaced this enclosure once already with same model thru Amazon about a year ago, so hopefully the controller isn't going in it or anything

    Ensure you get a quality cable. lately, I have been paying a little more for USB 3.1 Gen 2 rated cables there a little thicker and stiffer better quality connectors, but designed to handle 10 GBS standard

    Yeah this enclosures cable is just the one that came with it, but i can purchase a newer cable for it and hopefully it works fine after that, shall see once new cable arrives after i purchase it.

    Around my birthday might be doing a major system cleanup, get my first WD Black Storage drive for internal use, won a Seagate 8tb in a CES twitter contest, so got another enclosure ordered for that drive, arriving Thursday. Drive suppose to arrive today according to tracking, so yay, then wait for the new enclosure, set that one up, then hopefully no further issues lol, I may have a higher quality cable in my boxes in closet possibly already, checks before I order a new one lol
