Laptops That Support A Secondary Storage Drive

I am looking for a laptop that will support a second internal storage drive. Over the years, I have removed the ROM drive and installed a secondary hard drive using a hard drive caddy. But a lot of decent laptops don't have a ROM drive these days.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks.

Tons of them do. You haven't given us much to go as to what you want. My Dell Inspiron 7773 supports 2 internal drives. Lenovo 330s also supports 2 internal drives.

When you say "tons of them", do you mean that they have a ROM drive to remove or do they accommodate second drives specifically?

I'll keep it a bit broad.
    • Intel i7 Generation 8
    • 15.6" Display
    • M.2 512GB NVMe SSD (C Drive)
    • 1TB Hard Drive or SSD secondary drive (D Drive)
    • NVIDIA Graphics
    • 6 cell battery (maybe)
    • 4G/5G LTE mobile broadband card

When it comes to LTE cards, I'll listen to suggestions as I have never used one.

I like good sound, but when it comes to laptops, I am not sure how choosy you can be.
Please ask me what else I should include in the specs.

Yes, I mean two internal drives usually an M.2 and a 2.5" SATA, but quite a few also have 2 internal 2.5" SATA bays.

Many modern laptops have not just one, but two m.2 sockets. In addition, many of those also have internal 2.5" bays. However, it also depends on how much weight you're willing to accept, and how bulky you will accept. Internal LTE is a bit more rare...if you're willing to do an expansion card for that, that opens things up. It's not that useful to specify number of cells for a battery anymore, because of the huge range of power consumption vs batty capacity, you just want to specify run time.

The price of an additional M.2 NVMe is pretty high compared to a SATA SSD.
The speed of a storage drive is not much of a concern to me, nor is the minimal weight increase.

You misunderstand. A laptop that has 2.5" bays will, by necessity, be larger (bulkier) and heavier (the drive itself is negligable). Typically 2-4 pounds heavier than thinner, non-2'5" bay laptops.
