    Duplicate drive listed in explorer.

I had read some good tutorials on how to remove unwanted items from the side explorer navigation pane and was interested if someone knows how to remove a duplicate of a drive showing up?

Here is what I am dealing with:

    Duplicate drive listed in explorer.-duplicate-f-drive.jpg

The duplicate listing of Drive F: which is a USB Flash drive is not necessary and I would like to remove one of them.

    Any ideas?

    EDIT:

I think I found it here: Add or Remove Duplicate Drives in Navigation Pane in Windows 10

I'll give it a go and find out.

It appears that the drives listed under "This PC" are not considered duplicate listings and the reg file does not have any effect on those listings.

So imperially or practically, I guess I don't really have a duplicate listing of the drive unless the branch of "This PC" is expanded.

Wait a minute here, the reg file did work and this is what I wanted:

I just had to stop the explorer process and restart it, and it took!

I had the fix on my system from some time ago, looked for it and could find it. Grrrr It's in there somewhere... So I searched again (doing fresh re-installs) and wanted to share it here in case someone else happens upon the thread. From MS Tech.

Please note that the method involves changes in the registry editor. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using it. We suggest that you create a system restore point before proceeding further.

Press Win+R to bring up the Run dialog box, type regedit and hit Enter. In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following

    Path:32-bit: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\DelegateFold ers

64-bit HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\ DelegateFoldersRight-click on {F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83} and then click the Delete button. When prompted with a confirmation dialog, click the Yes button to delete the key.

Deleting the key should remove extra USB drive entry from File Explorer in Windows 10. However, if you still notice the drive entry appearing twice, simply sign out from your account and sign back in. You may also need to restart Explorer. To do so, open Task Manager, click More details, find the General tab, under it locate File/Windows Explorer entry, right-click on the entry and then click Restart.

Should you have any other concerns, feel free to post back.

I backed up Registry Entries just incase - {F5FB2C77-0E2F-4A16-A381-3E560C68BC83}.reg x64 & x32 same exact key names.Rebooted no change after deleting x64 entry.

Backing up & Deleting the x32 entry also. Both have to be deleted, then a reboot. That fixed it! Microsoft is so retarded. Why would ANYONE want that???

    Cheers!
