New G drive appeared from nowhere

A new G: drive appeared from nowhere. There are two Folders. One is named Ltransfer249, the other is Tcached87. In these folders there are about six files that when I open are encrypted (garbled letters, numbers and symbols. Any help on this would be appreciated.

    thanks,
    Russ

Welcome to the forum. Can you post a screen shot from disk manager showing details of paritions and show the files from explorer.

What is the creation date of the files its possible you have malware encrypting your files

    Check these two items -

    1) Do you have an SD card or the like inserted into your Card Reader?
    2) In Explorer (not Internet Explorer) do you have Hidden Items checked under the View tab? If so, please uncheck it.

Then we could see about those files.

    Thanks.

What a strange strange strange filenames. My guess: VIRUS! Get rid of it! :) Wipe those partitions clean and merge them again with the C drive (with a partition manager)

The G: drive is Disk 1 and it shows as a 2TB drive. I don't see how it can just pop up suddenly. You don't know where a 2TB drive came from???????
