Latest windows cumulative update clobbered Realtek speaker audio

    WINDOWS 10
    Version 1803
    OS BUILD 1734.472
    cumulative update KB4483234 DATE : 2018-12

After the October cumulative update for w10 1803, my speaker audio sounded like inside an empty space, I am not too sure but a new unrelated to Realtek audio setting in the toolbar audio showed :
    {Spatial Sound (OFF)}, underneath, { Windows sonic for headphones}.
I tried to change the setting but to no avail, it actually screwed up my headphone's sound the same spatial sound for speakers, I reverted back the setting, eliminated the spatial krap on the headphone but the speaker remained snafu.
I dug onto where this sonic malware comes from without any luck. I looked for the system audio setting and Realtek setting neither had anything to do with the Sonic Krap.

    1. Any idea what is Windows sonic for headphones? is it MS win10 specific or a third party insertion (Malware ?)?

    2. How to eliminate the SPATIAL SOUND period , preferably clubber the MS windows Sonic krap?

    Please help.

Hi, I have a laptop with those features in the Realtek driver- and another with an older version that doesn't. Both actually sound ok.

Note that the Realtek sites quoted in older posts - and one I used to use- are no longer valid, as the way such drivers are being distributed seems to be changing. In particular see these on Realtek:

I have always had the HDA version(the old HD Audio Manager UI) and wanted to try the UAD ones and got the UWP version and the sound presets are awesome. I'm no audiophile, and this PC is only connected to a soundbar(see my specs) but damn, the sound is full and immersive.

I did check the preset sounds, none has changed anything, the audio was actually stuck on the spatial option no matter what I hose. I did however resolved the issue by simply remove then reinstall the Realtek audio driver (6.0.1.8603).. That I have been using all along. Thanks anyway for gracious attempt.Cheers. Happened after the last two windows updates since September, twice messed up my audio.
