Discord voice chat makes mouse and gamepad unresponsive

As the title states, Discord's voice chat makes my mouse and gamepad unusable until I leave voice chat or close Discord. It usually works for a while, then suddenly my mouse clicks don't do anything (cursor still moves), and/or the gamepad "disconnects," even though the guide button light is solid. The only thing that works as far as HID devices go is the keyboard. I've had this issue happen on two different computers.

Yeah, I searched, and didn't find anything related to voice chat at all. Also, it doesn't happen when alt-tabbing out, it just happens randomly. And I was playing Forza Horizon 4, not FFXIV.

Also, how did my post end up on a site I've never even heard of, word-for-word? That's really creepy.

Well, I disabled the Discord overlay a while back, after the last time it did this, and haven't tested it again until last night. Worked for a couple hours without a hitch. So it looks like it is indeed the overlay that does that. Will test further.

Well, that didn't fix it. Apparently it does it when I attempt to alt-tab out of the game, when I have a Bluetooth headset AND my Xbox One controller connected at the same time. I can't figure out what's causing it, but it sometimes makes my mouse cursor lag as well.

You're better off talking your problem with them.

A bit off-topic but does the overlay work on yours? Mine doesn't work in some games and that really ticks me off.

I've never used the overlay in any game before. I prefer the Steam one anyway.
