HP Envy TouchSmart 4-1115dx NO TOUCH in Win10 /w SSD

    Hi,
I have an HP Envy TouchSmart that was upgraded with a SSD, and Win 10 some time ago by my son.
There is no recovery partition on the SSD. He just dropped in the SSD and reinstalled Win 10 from a USB. The OEM HDD is long gone. I remember long ago upgrading from 8.1 to 10 with the oem hhd still in and touch was working.

From a fresh install of Win10 just now, I have no touchscreen. There are no ! in device manager. My son told me since win10 update, also long ago, there has not been any touch for this machine. There are no touch drivers on the HP driver site for this machine for Win 8. There are no drivers for Win10 at all. Win 10 is fully updated. The computer working good in all there respects, just no touch. There is no Pen and Touch option the in control panel.
In device manager, showing hidden items, there is no HID touch screen grayed out driver. There are no 'Other devices'
I updated the display driver first from HP using the win 8.1 driver, no touch, then updated through windows driver update, still no touch.
Digging with google. I saw a way to try to install a generic driver called NWVoltronSetupliteDesktop 3.1.6.0.f
    No change.
I'm really stuck on this one. I got no help from the HP forums. So I thought I would try here. If there is a better site or forums, please list them.
    Suggestions, thought, links?

    Thanks

Yes this is the computer in question. This is where first starting to look for answers, and where I get the drivers. All tests have been run with no helpful results. Hard to test hardware without a driver. Input diagnostics only show keyboard, and trackpad, no touch. All relevant articles read with nothing helpful.

See if you can run through these troubleshooting steps:See notes on each

HP PCs - Troubleshooting Touch Screen Issues (WindowsÂ*10, 8) | HP® Customer Support

Tried this early on in this process. no help available through this self help.

Step 1: Confirm the computer has a touch screen
Yes, see above for specs, and was stated in post one

Step 2: Enable and reinstall the touch screen driver in Device Manager
As stated above in post 1, there is no driver showing

Step 3: Configure the touch display
Nothing to configure without a driver

    Step 4: Install Windows updates
Done as stated in first post.

Step 5: Perform a touch screen diagnostic test in HP Hardware Diagnostics
No option to run a test if the computer dose not know it is installed.

Step 6: Adjust the power management settings for your touch screen
The computer has always been connected A/C power during this testing process. currently power management is set to win10 defaults for A/C

Step 7: Perform a hard reset (notebook PCs) or full shutdown and restart (All-in-One PCs)
Done many times with no change. The battery is built in so unable to do a full power down.

Step 8: Update the BIOS and graphics driver
BIOS was long ago updated to latest version. HP website still shows same version that is currently installed as the last version
    Again many thanks.
Any other thoughts or suggestions, from anyone??

There is a log collector that is used in another forum.

Please run the BETA log collector and post a zip into this thread:
BSOD - Posting Instructions - Windows 10 Forums
    (extract all > open)

Open device manager > click view > click show hidden devices > manually expand all rows > look for any row displaying a yellow triangle with black exclamation mark or unknown device > post images into the thread > also post images of Human Interface Devices into the thread

    1) Power on the computer and repetitively click the F10 key > open the BIOS > reset the BIOS to default settings

    2) The HP BIOS UEFI diagnostics was recently installed.
Power on the computer and repetitively click the F2 key to open the HP BIOS UEFI diagnostics.

    3) Please run the extensive test or the loop until failure test overnight.

    4) Then in the AM click on component tests > use a camera or smartphone camera to take a picture of the test options for the touch screen and test results

    5) Post images into the thread so that it displays the hardware that was tested and the test results for each individual hardware component.

    6) In the device manager image that was posted:
    a) view human interface devices
    b) right click on the HID-compliand device
    c) left click on properties
    d) left click details tab
    e) under property scroll to hardware IDs > post an image into the thread
    f) after posting the image into the thread > right click on the HID-compliand device > left click uninstall > on the menu bar click action > scan for hardware changes > post a new image of hardware IDs

    Thanks again for the help.

Uninstalling that device just stopped the attached USB mouse from working. I am not a fan of touch-pads.

I reset the BIOS to defaults. There is not much in there. I think the only thing different was the virtualization option.'

Not sure what the UEFI test will find. I had run several of them before posting and all passed. There is nothing for touch in there. But I did not run the long test.
I just ran the short system quick test now again, 10 minutes, and it all passed. I am running the long test. I set to run until it finds an error. It says it will take about 4 hours to complete.
    Off to bed.....

Just had a quick thought brushing my teeth. What if this is a hardware issue. I early watched a video specific to the machine about replacing the screen. There 2 connections that may have worked loose of the years.

There should be HP UEFI BIOS hardware diagnostics to test the hardware.

The default factory installed HP UEFI diagnostic version typically has tests for only RAM and drive.

There are multiple versions of the HP BIOS UEFI diagnostics.

Version 6.9.1 is the latest version.

When viewing the firmware record and post the version into the thread.

The most up to date version should have the most test options.

I had installed the UEFI Diagnostics from the 4-115dx driver page. I was version 5.x.x.x.
I shows some bad memory. Could some bad bits in ram effect touchsreeen. Seems unlikely
I just installed the 6.9 version. I'm running the tests again.
    Below are the 5.x.x. results.
    Thanks!
