Well got a new computer. But it still happens. Every 29 minutes. Except for once after 10 minutes. So I figured it was a program causing it. Uninstalled the most likely suspect. Lasted 90 minutes, when I turned off two notifications. Then it lasted 11 minutes. It just doesn't make any sense.

Can I ask what devices are being plugged in?

Does it happen with just one low power device?

I have my mouse, keyboard, an External Hard Drive, and an internal Hard Drive in and external enclosure. If either Hard Drive is plugged in alone, it still happens. Even with my mouse and keyboard on the USB 2 ports. When I had the drives together and added my web cam, the cam turned on and off repeatedly, then crashed me so badly I had to reinstall windows. Oh, my internal in the external casing has it's own power source (AC Adapter).

Then as Ed stated it seems to be power related.

I think two options. Power USB 3 hub or tell HP they are getting their machine back.

I assume when you are plugging in either external drive you are using unique cables, that is the same cable is not being used.

If these devices work okay on other PC's I would ship the whole thing back for a full refund. A powered external drive should be using minimal power from port.

I'm using the cables provided by each device. 2 different ones. Different connections 2. Can't even use the same wire.
Searching has shown the same problem with others, claiming it's the Ryzen 5 card. Talks about changing voltage settings, and loosening memory timers. Anyway, I'm having HP service the machine. They insist it's a software issue (on my end), and I'm insisting it's the graphics card and not to just swap it out for another. It's an inherent problem with the card series and to contact AMD. As well as linking to the voltage/timing site. Don't want to mess around and damage things. Let them handle that, and blame them if it causes me more problems. It'll take 15 days, but worth it to place the onus on them. Bad card. Loss of time. Loss of use of computer. Etc.
