    2.5" Samsung EVO SSD, will it work on a desktop PC power-sata cables?


    I was thinking of buying a 2.5" SSD. Do they just plug into the same cables as a 3.5" hard drive?

    Yes, the SATA cables are the same. You may find a bit of velcro will come in handy, to attach the drive inside the case though.

    As stated, the cables are the same, but you will need a 3.5" to 2.5" Mounting bracket to attach the SSD to the case.

    Some newer cases have accommodations for 2.5" drives.

    If not, you can use a 3.5" adapter. I have tried a couple that didn't work well, though. Caveat emptor.
