Issue with keeping touchpad OFF on my laptop

    Hi,

I'm not a touchpad user, I like to use a mouse. So I have this laptop at work, It's an HP.... so every morning I have to go to the pad prefs and turn it off. Quite annoying. I have tried every trick I could find on line including adding lines in the Registry to no avail.. the stupid thing is reengaged when I boot in next. I even contacted Synaptics and their advice was not useful. Is there a sure fire way to turn this thing off permanently??

Typical info is that yes, it's Windows 10 and yes it's completely up to date!

    Thanks so much,
    Richard

Thanks. I'll check out that link.

Yea, tried disabling the touchpad via the Device Manager, it's back on when I reboot. Weird thing with this laptop!
