Storage spaces recovery

Hello, my ten year old PC that had been relegated to a file/media server has finally quit on me. Thinking it was a power supply issue I bought a new one but apparently that was not the problem. I don't really have an interest in throwing anymore money into it, I just want the files on storage spaces. Especially my photos and home videos. I'm not the most computer proficient and looking into my options has been a challenge. I've read that since storage spaces are interchangeable between PC's that I can simply use an enclosure to move the old drives to my new PC. It seems though that there are compatability issues with some enclosures. Would someone be kind enough to recommend a three bay enclosure or a better solution to get the files off of there? I'm kind of panicking from the thought of losing my stuff. Thanks for any help

I havn't tried it yet but I purchased a Synology ds718 as my new storage device. Is there a way to get the enclosure to be able to read the files on those drives? I assumed they are formatted differently

The only problem is the file permissions may give problems which you can fix assuming it's a Windows disk it will be ok. Some routers have USB which can be used as a basic media server. It's better to upload photos movies to Google as you get free unlimited storage
