Win10 not seeing all RAM; but BIOS does

This is a very new build, from October, and I just finally have time to address this issue. Windows 10's About specs, Task Manager's Memory Performance, and Resource Monitor, all show that I have 48GB of RAM installed -- but in actuality, I have 64GB. My BIOS has never shown a problem with seeing all 4 dimms, 64GB total. The Command Center for my mobo that I can run from Windows, also sees all 4 dimms, 64GB total, all running exactly the same and fine. Speccy can also see this.

    1024 x 64 = should be 65536 MB total

I understand that amount in parentheses has to do with how it's allocated, but it should at least be showing me that I have 64GB, not just 48, right?

For starters, what do you do on your PC that you need 64GB? lol. . I only have 16GB. The more the merrier I guess.

I'm in college for Digital Design, doing 3D modeling, so actually 64GB is not even enough. Octane got my single-frame scene renders down to like 20 minutes each, but I believe Arnold is only using CPU/RAM, as it takes 45 minutes and that's with half as many samples. Either way, in regular workflow 3DSMax has been extremely laggy and ActiveShade is relatively useless if I show everything in my scene. I'll be doubling that to 128GB for next year, but first I'm going to be getting a 2nd 1080-Ti for spring semester.

Possible bad RAM, incompatible RAM. Have you tried to unseat and reseat the RAM. Swap the RAM between slots, while noting on paper, which module went were. Always test with MemTest86 - Official Site of the x86 Memory Testing Tool Speccy and Windows is going to do nothing to help diagnose hardware issues. Check your BIOS settings to make sure that they are correct. Did you also update the Bios firmware? What do the 4 SPD entries show when you expand them?

You quoted the whole post to make that remark? Clever.

I think that it should show 64GB. I see that the board is spec'd to 128GB.

    Whether it's a RAM issue or a motherboard issue, I can't guess.

If you have mixed RAM from different manufacturers, it may be useful to manually set the RAM timings.

    Best of luck.

Try to run CMD as admin and copy/paste:
    Code:
    bcdedit /deletevalue {current} removememory
    bcdedit /deletevalue {current} truncatememory
    bcdedit /deletevalue {default} removememory
    bcdedit /deletevalue {default} truncatememory

As bro67 said, this looks like a hardware problem.

Speccy is not claiming that all is well with the 64 GB RAM modules. It is merely showing what it knows, that 4 memory modules are present and can be identified. Nothing more.

This does not imply that the modules are fully functional, compatible, or there is not some motherboard problem.

Windows of course has more stringent requirements for the memory it is going to use.

The 4 modules are from a single set of 4, so compatibility with each other can be ruled out. (Specifically: HyperX Fury 64GB (4 x 16GB) DDR4 2133MHz 1.2V)

I'm assuming that will trick Windows, etc that I have reseated them?

I tried reseating back in October when I was first getting everything set up, but that was all 4 each time. I suppose I'll try doing only 3 at a time.
