Hi. Just wondering, could it be a failed/failing/problem USB port on your printer?
I don't think so my printer is wireless.
simrick Thanks for trying.
I hope I am not driving Zbook crazy !
Np. Sometimes you can go into the settings and tell the computer never to sleep the USB, and that keeps it live all the time. But it sure would help to identify what is having the problem and why!
Under property it displayed device description > see if you can open the menu and change to hardware ID's
Click on the down arrow.
It may be the third option on the list, click Hardware ID's > view the results > post an image into the thread
Z can I ask a question about flasing the Bios ?
I have tried a number of times without success to flash my Bios to the F12 version.
What happens is that after booting I receive the error message of a checksum error. I have per the instructions for the Q-Flash program to selected Load Optimized Defaults in the Bios setup upon reboot.
Am I correct in thinking that the new Bios I am trying to load must not agree with the existing CMOS memory?
If that is the case would I be wrong/or helpful to power down my Desktop and remove the CMOS battery then after a little time reinstall the battery and try flasing again ?
Also I is it ok to flash from F5 to F12 in one fell swoop ?
Resetting the BIOS is useful to ensure that there are no improper settings.
Sometimes there can be failure to boot after resetting the bios.
Backup the computer files to another drive or to the cloud.
