Is it a hardware problem which has nothing to do with Windows?

    ASUS H81M-A + Intel G3240 + OCZ 2GB PC3-10666 DDR3 + Unifosa 2GB PC3-10600 DDR3.
The above had been working together perfectly without malfunctions for a few years until ASUS H81M-A died in August 2018. Then, I replaced it with GIGABYTE GA-H81M-DS2, which also works with the same CPU and RAM sticks. However, a malfunction sometimes happens. The same malfunction has happened 12 times since I clean installed Windows 10 on August 30. It last happened today, December 2. See this video: YouTube

The screen remained unchanged whatever keys I pressed. It remained unchanged even when I pressed/held down the power button. I had to power the PC down. When I powered it up and pressed the power button again, everything returned to normal, and the PC worked properly. The same situation has arisen 12 times. I think it is a hardware problem which has nothing to do with Windows. What do you think?

The ASUS H81M-A dying may have damaged the CPU too ? are you using the iGFX Card? as that looks like GFX corruption

can you test another CPU? .....is it still under Warranty?

Are you monitoring CPU Temps? maybe it is just overheating and you are seeing the GFX corruption on screen as evidence...

You have answered your own question. When hardware dies, it can take other components with it.

I use Intel HD Graphics. I have only one CPU, bought four years ago. I always monitor CPU temperatures with SpeedFan. Overheating never arises. My PC always works fine after rebooting in spite of the malfunction.

Do you think the following test can find out the culprit?

Probably your power supply doesn't give accurate (or even correct) voltages and computer hangs. Try another power supply first.

I think that your CPU has bit the ghost because of the previous hardware failure kickstarted its problem, along with the RAM. Time for you to get another CPU and RAM to test the Motherboard.

Is there any sign of the picture tearing if you boot to the BIOS screen? This was my first clue I had a faulty GPU.

If you have such tearing then you need to replace the GPU or motherboard if you are using integrated graphics.

I don't have another CPU, RAM stick, and PSU, so I can only do tests with software.
My PC's power consumption is low. My PSU is SilverStone ST30SF, which I believe is reliable.

I boot it every day, and everything is normal.

The previous hardware failure was described below.
The POST screen remains there permanently although I have pressed F2 many times. - Motherboards

It died peacefully, so its death should not have damaged other components.
