I see no difference. Both videos and images look fine. I have not yet installed any drivers but going to install the one below.
Should I leave the box checked below?

That is the CPU HW ID not the GPU HW ID.....

usually the one 2nd or 3rd down is best to do a search with but you want it for the Intel HD Graphics cards not the CPU.

Check that This is actually what you have and MS Update is identifying it correctly.....

You could also ask over at Laptop2Go Video Forum with the full HW ID and see if someone can tell you the best/latest Driver for your GPU/CPU

Best to copy and paste from Device Manager (ctrl-C) rather than using pics , it is easier for Others to help search that way...

I have just installed Intel HD Graphics Driver 15.40.7.64.4279, the one shown in post #62, but Device Manager shows it as 10.18.15.4279.

I might have missed it - but did you try a new cable and all GPU outputs DVI / HDMI. Check the refresh rate is set to default 60Hz.

After installing the driver mentioned in post #66, the same malfunction happened repeatedly at 17:52, 18:03, 18:08, and 18:14. It happened within ten minutes after Windows started. At 18:15, I booted into Linux. It is 18:50 at this moment. No malfunction has happened since 18:15.

At 19:01, I changed it back to to Microsoft Basic Display Adapter and rebooted the PC. It is 20:34 at this moment, and no malfunction has happened since 19:01.

I used WUMT to download the Intel HD Graphics driver shown in post #60.

    Size: 147 MB

How should I install it? Double-click on it?

If it is a .cab file , you need to extract it to a Folder and then use Device Manager > New Driver for the GPU.
