It may not be the Hub driver that's at fault. For a 'once recognised but now not' device sometimes you need to uninstall the device itself in Device Manager, not the driver for the hub it is using. Also, in Device Manager click 'View > Show hidden devices' to see any known/unknown devices that were once connected but not at the moment. They are the ones with the grey icons.
