Realtek Audio Console REQUIRES a Realtek HD (UAD) Driver!!

So, after reading this thread, along with my great thanks to the OP, @EdTittel, I decided to take the plunge and try UAD drivers on my hp laptop, with HW ID HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0282&SUBSYS_103C80C1.

Although the actual HW ID was nowhere to be found in the inf files, I downloaded the latest UAD driver version 6.0.1.8591, using Ed's link in Station-Drivers.

I turned off the internet and removed the existing HDA driver from Windows settings, which took care of the driver in Device Manager and removed the device.
Rebooted and Windows installed the generic Microsoft HD Audio driver. Updated the driver from Device Manager, pointing at the folder where I had extracted the UAD driver in my PC. Everything went smoothly and the driver was updated to 6.0.1.8591 and installed the 3 Software Components in Device Manager, which I also updated the same way.
Rebooted again and switched the internet back on. Within seconds, the Realtek Audio Console was automatically downloaded and installed from the Store and was functioning properly!
So I started testing things around. To be honest the sound was clear and I dare to say better than the HDA driver.

And then I tried to use my headphones....ooops big mistake. The headphones were connected, the sound was coming from the headphones, but it was also coming from the laptop speakers!!
I spent quite some time trying to fix it, playing with settings and my google search did not have any result either.

So I restored the Macrium image I took, before started playing with the sound drivers and I'm back to the good (?) old HDA driver.

Any help on that, will be greatly appreciated!

Which Realtek sound card does your laptop have?

The only thing that hp says over it is:
DTS Sound+
Dual speakers
Single digital microphone

DEV_0282 that translates as ALC282
You need these: Realtek HD Audio (UAD) Drivers Version R2.8x (8515) WHQL (HP)

I found after uninstalling the HDA drivers, I needed to thoroughly nuke them from my system, by checking for the folder in Programs/x86Programs, ProgramData, User AppData, and going i9nt Regedit and deleting : Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Realtek\Audio

Results:

Uninstalled and nuked all Realtek stuff (Registry and with PowerShell all Realtek references!)
Once rebooted and tried to update the Microsoft Audio device by pointing to the folder where I had extracted the HP driver recommended, it didn't get it and I got the usual msg "The best driver for your system is already installed". So much for the HP driver.

Since I had nuked everything Realtek related when uninstalled the HDA driver, I tried again the 6.0.1.8591 (generic) I had tried yesterday.
Again all updates and Audio Console were up and running... but no dice. When headphones are connected, same thing. Sound from both headphones and speakers.
So we're back to square one... and it's official now: My HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0282&SUBSYS_103C80C1 cannot use UAD drivers!
At least not 6.0.1.8591 (UAD-Generic)… we'll try again when a new generic version becomes available, just in case this one had a bug in Speakers/Headphones separation.

I'm restoring image back to the HDA driver, which I will update to 6.0.1.8612 FF04, the hp stuff with Conexant integration (CXAPO).

You should have just unblocked the installer and let it do it's magic, no need to use device manager at all.

The reason for doing it via Device Manager was the numerous posts I have read, with problems with Realtek Audio Console not functioning or updating if you run the installer.

But what the heck... I'll try that too!

Tried the installer too!
NO magic at all, from the installer.... Device not updated, Software components not installed. Still on Microsoft's High Definition Audio Device.
The only thing installed is an "HP Audio Control" app which does not run, as it keeps crashing every single time I tried it!!!
