Mouse wakes computer even though . . .

Logitech M705 cordless mouse. Wakes computer if you breathe in the same room. So I opened Device Manager/mouse and unchecked "Allow this device to wake computer." Put computer to sleep, waited a few seconds and moved the mouse. Computer woke.

Not using Logitech software, just Windows.

I'd be happy only to use the keyboard to wake up but maybe that's not possible. Any thoughts?

If you wish to disable it you could also try the powercfg command (command prompt) with this option:
Mouse wakes computer even though . . .-1.jpg

Explore the powercfg command starting with
    powercfg /?

Further, using the /lastwake option you could find what exactly last woke your PC.

Use the switch on the bottom of the mouse and turn it off when not using maybe.

The wake source might be your USB port or wireless dongle...?

    OK, I browsed in powercfg:
    C:\WINDOWS\system32>POWERCFG /DEVICEQUERY wake_armed
    HID Keyboard Device
So the system knows the mouse wake is off.

I'll try a corded mouse to see if it's the dongle.

Switch on bottom not the worst idea if I can train my fingers to do it blind. All that piano practice might help.

Remember to use powercfg to determine what ACTUALLY woke your PC.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>powercfg /lastwake
    Wake History Count - 1
    Wake History [0]
    Wake Source Count - 1
    Wake Source [0]
    Type: Device
    Instance Path: USB\VID_046D&PID_C52B\6&38892ac3&0&4
    Friendly Name:
    Description: USB Composite Device
    Manufacturer: (Standard USB Host Controller)
Not too informative. I assume it means the USB that the dongle is attached to. But I can't disable the wake on the dongle because the keyboard is also connected to it and I need the keyboard to wake the machine. There is no sleep button on the computer.

That seems to clarify where you're at with this, and why preventing the mouse from waking the PC is ineffective.
